Collaboration for digital transformation
Listen to the podcast interview here.
For the latest feature in Herstory's trailblazer series, we’re excited to introduce you to Dana and Eman Kawas, co-founders of Thynkli.
Dana and Eman are digital transformation specialists. They take a collaborative approach to digitizing organizations and guide them towards operational excellence.
The two founders came together in 2019 to form Thynkli with the mission of helping companies, and moreover clients, “in emerging technologies move the dial of their digital transformation in a different direction, using a different, innovative business model."
Briefly dipping into the weeds, Thynkli’s online platform creates a “Digitial Twin” of an organization by constructing a digital, visual replica of all the business’ components, processes, and assets — such as technology, customer interactions, infrastructure — everything that makes up the business. These visualized operations are then tracked against organizational KPIs to allow clear insight into potential risks, needs, and bottlenecks. Thynkli compares its platform to “a GPS for your organization, to navigate disruption and change” — how timely.
Thynkli means “thinking differently”, which for Dana and Eman takes shape as “collaboration”.
Thynkli means “thinking differently”, which for Dana and Eman takes shape as “collaboration”. They apply this collaborative approach to all aspects of their business model — from developing their values and mission, to hiring and selecting clients, to most importantly, how Thynkli delivers its services.
Prior to Thynkli, Dana, CEO, held several leadership roles in digital transformation and change management consulting. And Eman, Chief Growth Officer, comes from a background of technology implementation across many industries, “bridging the gap between technology and businesses”.
Adequate value was not being delivered to enable companies to adopt the necessary changes for adaptation and growth in shifting business landscapes.
But in their previous roles, Dana and Eman both saw issues with the traditional model of digital transformation consulting. They noticed that adequate value was not being delivered to enable companies to adopt the necessary changes for adaptation and growth in shifting business landscapes. Sure, sound recommendations were made, but the consulting model did not promote partnership or collaboration with clients to fully commit to their success. So, with Thynkli, Dana and Eman endeavour to deliver digital transformation differently, through full-cycle collaboration with their clients.
And we would be remiss not to mention that Dana and Eman are sisters! Dana shared that partnering was a “very natural” decision for the two because of their shared upbringing, combined with different industry experience. They grew up witnessing their mom’s career supporting women in business through micro-financing, and this fed their own passions to lift up women in business and leadership. They’ve also worked across a range of different industries, from oil and gas, to government, construction, and engineering, bringing unique perspectives to Thynkli.
“If we don’t admit what’s missing, we won’t be able to innovate.”
Dana and Eman also apply their collaboration mindset to their partnership, clearly communicating about strengths and weaknesses, and strategizing together on how they can best drive towards common goals. “This is also the essence of our business,” shared Eman “the partnership ecosystem that we have with other companies to deliver value for our customers. It’s often a challenge for anybody to admit their weaknesses, but it is a foundation for us to be able to build on the solutions that we are offering our customers. If we don’t admit what’s missing, we won’t be able to innovate.”
Through collaboration, creativity, a commitment to thinking differently, and embracing innovation, Dana and Eman are two leading women in digital transformation to keep an eye on.
And, we tried something new: a podcast! Dana and Eman dive deeper into their herstory, what collaboration means to them, and how they developed Thynkli’s corporate values.
